At Rising Pillars, every month brings a brand-new adventure. Theme-based programming is a cornerstone of our curriculum, turning learning into an exciting journey where each month's theme is woven through art, stories, songs, science, and play.

How Our Themes Work
Each month, our classrooms transform around a central theme. A month of “Under the Sea,” for example, might bring ocean stories at circle time, watercolour jellyfish at the art table, counting fish in math games, sink-and-float experiments at the water table, and a dramatic-play corner turned submarine. Because the theme touches every part of the day, children make rich connections across different areas of learning — and their vocabulary grows right along with their imagination.

A Year Full of Adventures
Our themes follow the rhythm of the year and the interests of the children, and may include favourites like community helpers, space explorers, harvest time, winter wonderland, and spring gardens. Many themes also connect to the special celebrations on our annual calendar, giving families plenty of chances to share in the fun.

Why Theme-Based Learning Works
Young children learn best when ideas are revisited in many different ways. A theme lets a child meet the same concept through a story, a song, an experiment, and a painting — and each encounter deepens understanding. Themes keep the program fresh and exciting month after month, for children and educators alike, and give little learners something to look forward to: “What's our theme going to be next?”
