In our rooms, language flows constantly. Educators narrate routines, ask open-ended questions, and get down to a child's eye level to really listen. Even our youngest infants are part of the conversation — every coo and babble earns a warm response, building the back-and-forth “serve and return” interactions that wire the brain for language.

A Two-Way Street
Learning to Express and to Listen
Communication is a two-way street, and children practise both sides every day. Circle time discussions, show-and-share, and group games give children the chance to speak in front of friends and to listen while others have a turn. We also help children put words to their feelings — “I'm frustrated,” “I need help,” “Can I play too?” — giving them powerful tools for friendship and problem-solving.
